Application has been made to the Board, to recommend, that State aid to the extent of [$]50,000 per annum for each of the years 1903 and 1904, be given to the following institutions, located in Baltimore City--
To the Baltimore Medical College ... [amount illegible]
To the College of Physicians and Surgeons ... [amount illegible]
To the University School of Medicine ... [amount illegible]
These applications are based upon the allegation that these colleges attract a large number of students to this city, and if liberally aided by the state, will make Baltimore an attractive place for obtaining medical education, enabling it thus to successfully compete in this connection with other cities.
It was stated also that neighboring states gave most liberal assistance to similar institutions within their borders.
The Board after full consideration declines to recommend any appropriation.
