Photograph taken looking north at the east side of the 200 block North Caroline Street from its intersection with East Lexington Street in Baltimore , Maryland . This street consists mostly of two- and three-story brick row houses . In a one-story building on the near corner at number 201 North Caroline is the Caroline Auto Service , an automobile repair shop where cars also are sold . On the wall on the house next to and above the shop is a painted sign advertising Arrow beer . A truck and two cars are parked along the street . At the end of the block on the next corner at number 301 North Caroline is Collin's Restaurant , a store with numerous advertisements on its outer wall , including one for Malone's Candy Factory Retail No . 1 (see also mdaa212) . Tracks are embedded in the cobblestone roadway , and electric lines for streetcars are suspended above the center of the street . Many African Americans adults and children are walking along the sidewalk or crossing the street . Street lights are located on the sidewalk , and a lone tree grows in the middle of the block .
