Description
According to Earle , "passing out of South River one has to head well out in the bay before rounding Thomas Point Lighthouse , then continues north until the large can buoy is passed off Tolly's Point , which marks the entrance to Severn River . The State House Dome and the buildings of the Naval Academy stand out invitingly and the deep channel , dredged for battleships of the Navy , is followed to the harbor of Annapolis.
